Ella and Joe (mostly!)

Ella hasn't been herself for a while - I still think it's the whole Joseph thing is bringing up some deep rooted abandonment issues, poor hunny. Came to a head when she had a go at Vicky, and had been daily until she whacked her head last week - think that scared the living daylights out of her - and us! The weekend has been hard work. I had a phone call from school on Friday, she'd been very unpleasant to the taxi driver and escort so I had to go and collect her. We've spent the whole weekend on eggshells. Several times the signs of a meltdown were appearing but we managed to keep her from going over the edge. But it has been such hard work, I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. We have praised her so much about how well she's done. If she controls her mood swings then hopefully the more positive re-inforcement the better. But atm I don't think hormones are helping at all, so don't think she's totally in control. Her SW is visiting on Friday and I am torn between, as always, saying 'everything's fine, no problems' and 'no, actually Alf I'm not coping.' Probably will decide when he asks!

In other news thanks to being so needy this weekend I've seen Breaking Dawn twice and Eclipse once - I think Aversion Therapy may work LOL

Ella and Vicky tried to make peppermint creams at the weekend - for the second time. The first time Vicky missed one of the steps in the recipe and made what Ella described very aptly as wet sand. The second faired no better despite following the recipe. Of course Ella tipping the food colouring in instead of adding a few drops might not have helped!

Mini pompom wool creates lovely blankets, as long as you don't knot the ball of wool! This weekend has seen Ashton, me, Jeff and Ben spend absolutely hours and hours unravelling and unknotting. I was determined we would succeed - in hindsight defeat is sometimes the better choice LOL

My aunty suggested, as Joseph has adjusted so well to being told what to do and when to do it, that maybe he would suit being in the forces, which actually makes sense. So I thought, before I suggested it I'd check out how his criminal record would affect an application. And the good news is that it would only prevent him applying in certain areas. Great. His ADHD is not a problem if he had been ADHD 'free' (seriously?) for over 4 years. Well, technically he was discharged 5 years ago and hasn't had Ritalin for the same period so there's another tick. Even the head injury doesn't seem insurmountable. So here's me thinking that this could be a real possibility when ........................ guess what will prevent him applying? ..................His fricking asthma!!!!!!!!!!! I suppose if I'm thinking without my Mum head on I get that. The last thing you need is someone having an asthma attack at a really crucial moment. But with my Mum head on all I can think of is "F***, can't the boy catch a break!"

Yet another week vanished

Well those ten days were full on. Let's see what I can remember .......

Monday Joshua had to have a 24 hour ECG following that scare last November. I'm pretty sure it will be fine, but we'll all be a whole lot happier when we know for sure.

Ella had a full on meltdown Wednesday, what a nightmare that was. Ended up hurting herself so a trip to A & E was needed - again! Josh and Ben were so worried about her they came with us, bless. The triage nurse turned out to be the same one that had looked after her the other Sunday! He gave her a side room rather than wait in the waiting room. At one point she was asleep on the hospital bed,  Ben was curled up on 2 chairs and Josh crashed out on the floor. Of course yours truly had to stay awake - and we didn't get away from there until 3.30am.

I've started a 6 week beginners course in Makaton.

Answered a call for support for a friend - sending her tons of love and support xx

Did I mention is now up and running? Pleased with how it looks - just need some customers now! Spread the word!

Also got another idea growing, I am really beginning to feel that things are turning around, which probably means I'm going to turn the corner and reality will give me a quick kick up the behind!

Been crafting like mad - will upload some photos tomorrow. Downside is I seriously need to tidy up my crafting stash, like seriously!

And the weekend? Well I went away for the weekend with a group of scrapping girlfriends. I scrapped and read and slept - I mean I slept a lot! Usually when I go away I'm last to bed and first up. I was first to bed both nights and even had a nap Saturday afternoon. But then, I've had 4 nights in the last 2 weeks when I didn't go to sleep till 4am, so I suppose I needed to catch up!

Photo post!

Okay, despite it being half term has been pretty uneventful as Ella has taken days to bounce back - only today really back to normal.

So photo post instead :)

Joshua and Ashton - who is just the loveliest girl :)
Ella, of course, as happy as anything - but the body of the butterfly really emphasis just how bent her nose is!
New FB profile picture - supporting both my countries in the Euros

Merly Impressions June Challenge

My effort for Merly Impressions June challenge. Was going to be a different layout, but blue ink decided to run out, so total rethink, but got to say love the results.

Um .... washi tape for the stripes and then another row made like tabs. Everything on this page was already in my stash, and some of it is several years old! I really found leaving white space the biggest challenge LOL! The small writing that's quite hard to read says 'Ten years gone in the blink of an eye.'

Week Round Up

Where did that last week go? No, seriously, where did it go? I'm not sure how I managed to fit teaching into my week, because I seem even busier now than I was when I was at the college!

So, Joe -  big row brewing, oh lucky me! - and fighting still with CICA and the Tribunal. We're now having to appeal the fact that they reckon he doesn't deserve a penny as he has a criminal record ...... he's only had the criminal convictions since the bloody head injury. Makes me fume - over 3 years this has been going on. The lad pleaded guilty to wounding and causing GBH withoug provocation. He had a curfew, community service and a £100 fine - pathetic. And here Joe is having to fight for even so much as a penny. Something is definately wrong with the system. I would hate to think cutbacks had anything to do with this *rolls eyes sarcastically*

Ella only had one major meltdown this week, but still stopped me catching up with some old college friends. And we ended up in A & E with her yesterday. Suspected appendicitus, thankfully not. Benjamin was a trooper and sat up with her holding the sick bucket (what? oh, TMI!)  from 3-6am to give me a break. Also found out that a high dose of codeine (given by A & E) makes her head "shake and bang" :( The doctor also found a heart murmur! Apparently a lot of the time they're just there, but no problem, however they can be a sign with the FHS of thickening of the veins, so we'll add a cardiologist to the list of consultants!

Jeff's been decorating Mum's bedroom - we had our instructions to get it completed before she came back from France ..... and we made sure it was. Those of you that know Mum know why we wouldn't dare upset her LOL

Hev read about half my book and reckoned she loved it - hope she wasn't just being nice. And then critiqued it to the nth degree! Speaking of which, how come nobody has clicked on the tab at the top of this page and left a comment about the excerpt from the book? I know, nag much ;)

Finished decorating the room - well, except for Jeff varnishing the floor, and I can't wait forever for that. And I love it! Now - if you check at the top of the page there's another tab - called Spirit-Mind-Body - and you can see some photos of the room :) Did I mention I love it?!

Got a careers grant from the local council - has to be spent on the carer for a break ........ so I'm off to Debden scrapping in 2 weeks with some girlfriends courtsey of BFC :)

Jeff's been scarifying the back garden - oh my God that contraption is amazing, thanks Patrick and Angela, the lawn's the best it's looked in 16 years (I know, we've lived here 16 years last week!!). Although, must say, seeing as we allowed the boys to use it as a football/badminton/you name it pitch for 16 years, can't really be surprised at the state it was in!

Speaking of Patrick and Angela, took our adorable Orla out Monday to the park and feed the ducks :)

What else? still finishing odd student for the college; interviewing at SMC in governor role; and wading through appeals.

Oh and for the first time ever went to Nirvana Spa - blissssssss. Went with Ariane, Ami and Joy and had 3 solid hours of doing nothing but chilling and chatting. Definately one to be repeated, wonder if I could get it on prescription? LOL
