I mentioned to Ashton I was going to decorate a pair of shoes for the 'do' as it's probably the only way I'm going to get a pretty pair that fits. She said she'd love a glittery red pair. So I thought I'd have a go, got all the bits including a cheap five pound pair of shoes.TBH they're not brilliant, but they were my first attempt, and I am chuffed with the end result:)

And did this for Joshua's 21st birthday :)
Very creative, love the sparkly shoes! Bet it was a fun 21st celebration.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzanne, thanks! And it was lovely - if a little scarey to know that I now only have 2 children under 20! xx
DeleteI bet Dorothy would love those ruby slippers!!! How will you keep the sparkles from falling off the heels?
ReplyDeleteHi JoJo - the silver gems are attached with something called Gemtak, and once they're on, they're not going anywhere! With the glitter a couple of the layers are Mod Podge and glitter mixed and then after a layer of just glitter is dry you hairspray it! xx
DeleteI've heard of Gemtak. I'll have to get some!!!!! Thanks!
DeleteLady, you can come decorate my shoes ANY DAY. What a gorgeous project!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Crystal, I think the bright red helps their appeal :) xx
DeleteWow. Those shoes are sparkly and awesome. I don't normally like heels, but I would wear those SO MUCH.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I usually love wearing heels, being just 5'1" they help! But while my foot's healing I can't, so I just have to look at them :) xx
DeleteWow! I think the red, glittery shoes are amazing! If I had done it my shoes would end up with glue clumps all over and glitter on my fingers and hair.
ReplyDeleteThanks! To be honest, I did get glitter everywhere, but luckily my husband is a patient man LOL! xx
DeleteYou are sooo creative! Love the ruby slippers...click three times....(thinking Judy Garland here :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon :) Sometimes the idea work - other times they don't, luckily this was a winner lol! xx
