Hair - I'm doing it myself, can't see the point of spending a fortune when I know better than anyone what my hair can and cannot do! When Jeff and I got married I had a trial run the week before the wedding. The hairdresser used brand new rollers - the type that stay put without clips? She didn't take into account how thick my hair was, took her over an hour and several cups of tea, to get the fricking things all out again! I just need to practice to work out how to get the style I want.
Headdresses - Have headwear for me, Ella, 3 oldsmaids and the 2 flower girls - all for £62, not bad :) Thanks to sales, preloved (yeah, okay second hand, but doesn't it sound nicer!) and a car boot fair.
Hanging Decorations - Bunting already covered. Also, there's a photo under 'D' which shows ...
- 100 m fairy lights
- 50m crystal glass - not cheap acrylic - strands
- 110m white organza
- Honeycomb lanterns
- Paper lanterns
- And 50 artificial wisteria each measuring 3'
Note to self, must make sure we have enough blutack and fishing line! Any guesses for the look we're going for? Well, when I say we, it's my vision, Jeff just nods and says "And how do you expect me to do that?" We both know he'll suss it :)
ooohh!! love the posts.. I have already started scouting for hairstyles and head dresses for my upcoming wedding! :D lovely post Suzanne
ReplyDeletei had to go back and see all your a to z posts so far (and the shoes, OMG, the shoes!) those hairstyles are gorgeous! and i had a bad hair experience on my wedding day, too - sometimes the pros think they know and they just dont!

I love your blog, going to be looking over it more.
ReplyDeleteLove all the glorious images and your emphasis on planning ahead. Beautiful blog. As soon as I clicked on your link from the Ultimate Blog Challenge, I went "oooohhhhh" love your header image. Gorgeous. Will come back!
ReplyDeleteThe hairstyles are gorgeous. I'm useless at doing hair!
ReplyDeleteYou're so right! We know best what our hairs can and cannot do...I can't remember the last time I went to get my hair done for an event. I'm really enjoying your tips, I have to come back after this whole challenge is over and make notes lol
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point about the hairdresser and long hair. Mine is super thick and past my butt. It would take someone forever to roll it.
ReplyDeleteI could never get my hair to do any of those styles. I'm not sure a hairdresser could either. Good for you to take on this part of the wedding. You can make yourself look just as you like.
ReplyDeleteI could look at pics of hairstyles all day, so pretty! I am not good w/doing hair, so I'm a bit jealous of people who are. =)
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew how to do my own hair. I can't even manage a decent, high ponytail, so I sadly won't be able to do these beautiful hairstyles. I love the headdresses though! :)
ReplyDeleteThose styles look complicated, but they're so beautiful. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAt least things will be simple when it comes to the guys' hair...
ReplyDeleteThe hanging decorations will be magical. I can't wait to see pictures of your vow renewal!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many cute and fun hair styles to try. I'm sure yours will look lovely on your big day.
