And catch up No. 3

Onto December (except Christmas week cos already done that!)

Jeff and I went to the Enchanted Walk again at Syon Park. Mulled wine, moonlight, lights, woodland and just the 2 of us - pretty damned near perfect :)

Finished the online course on Exploring Play.
Ben had a trial and a showcase couple of games for possible soccer scholarship in USA.
Joe visited for a week.
Been networking - how posh do I sound LOL!
Attended a workshop on the new EHC system which is replacing Statements - sounds good in principle, will delay final opinion once it's up and running.
Joy looked after Ella for the second all day foster care course. Christmas fair, lunch, cuddles and Frozen DVD, she had another lovely day with one of her aunties :)
Had a coffee with Ariane.
Coffee with Jane and Ann.

Pre-Christmas night out with Dawn and Julie - was actually yummy and generous portions. Sometimes when places are busy and they're mass producing the food can be a bit under par - but not in this case :)

Our Ella became a sweet 16 :)

Catch up No. 2 :)

As you know I really let blogging slide the past few months, so now catching up on some of the events going on in November! It might seem strange, but my blog was originally started, many moons ago, as a personal diary to look back on, so here goes.

Jeff and I had a rare date night and went and saw Maze Runner, which is my kind of film but Jeff actually enjoyed it too.
Went to see Gone Girl with some of the girls. Didn't realise it was an 18, might not have watched it had I known. Having said that I was gripped - excellent film - except for the ending when I quite vocally said "You have got to be kidding me!" People in the row behind laughed :) No spoilers, but if you've seen it you know what I mean ;)
Had a lovely relaxing spa with Dawn - I do love me a spa - jacuzzi more than the sauna :)
Sara came round and we spent 5 hours chatting and putting the world to right :)
Started the foster course, DBS forms completed, references have been sent off. Had my medical.
Attended the childminding pre-reg evening, now need to do the course.
Continuing with the Exploring Play online course.

Anna looked after Ella for us while we were at the first full-day foster course. Sounds like she had a great time, shopping, baking and cuddles. Did warn her to put her Wonder Woman pants on as Ella had lots of requests. Silly me, Anna wears them all the time!
And that was the extras for November :) December tomorrow! Trying to update before 2015!

Christmas Week

Sunday went as planned - absolutely loved having all the children and their other halves all together. Made a traditional Italian meal with a joint of lamb and sugo cooked in the slow cooker, with bucatini (my all-time fave pasta) and salad. Followed by a homemade baked New York cheesecake that Jeff makes. Yum! New timeline photograph of Mia Famiglia :)
Joe's girlfriend Kerrie came over for a flying visit. She landed 9pm Saturday and left 9pm Sunday. But it was good to meet her. Not sure for her though - being subjected to all of us in one go LOL!
Boxing Day Joe emigrated to Ireland - so excited for him!

Bloody cars! Taking Joe to the airport and the Galaxy breaks down before we even leave our town! Back home and Jeff got the old VW, got Joe to Gatwick, and then that bloody car overheated and packed up on the way home! Grrrrr!

Decorated tree and fireplace this year. Ella is Frozen mad so Jeff felt the colour scheme should be blue and silver :)
Pressie from my bessie!
Church on Christmas morning. I still have a big problem with the religious regime but no problem with a God, so our Church seems the obvious place to celebrate that,
We always go to the crematorium Christmas morning to visit Nanny's rose tree, it's just a token gesture, but an important one :)
Don't usually show photos of pressies we buy, but these deserve a mention. I ordered these rag dolls from Sweet Evangeline and they were to look like Martha and Orla when they were our flower girls. I think they are amazing and would totally recommend her :)
And finally, a simple picture, but means so much. The gravy boat belonged to Jeff's Mum (dated 1968) and the salt and pepper containers were my grandparents. For my whole life I remember these being on their kitchen table. So seems only right at Christmas they take pride of place on the table.

Dancing Groot!!

Following on from my post the other day about Ella's Christmas list, one of her requests was a dancing something!

Alex , known as a real-life superhero helping so many bloggers/writers, can also now be known as a helper for mums with the children's pressies! Following up his suggestion of a dancing Groot I found this!! Yay I thought!.......
.....Only it's not being released till next spring :( Do you think, knowing Ella, she'll accept an IOU :)

But then I found this one, so looks like she will have two dancing Groots in the end :)

Deja Vu Do-Over Reminder :)

This Friday folks :) All about it on this old post of mine ;)

Wow record short post!

Ella's Santa List

Most regulars know our Ella has special needs (was told at a review recently that she's considered 'severe' which has come as a blow and still getting my head around). I asked her what she would like Father Christmas to bring and this is her list ....... it's what all lists should be made of, she makes my heart melt!

Catch Up No. 1!

Going to be lots of these! Today I'll focus on my shoes which is generally positive.

I have 1-2 orders a week starting to come in, which I'm happy with for now. After Christmas I hope to book one wedding fair a month from January to June as I think they'll be good events to find customers.

I have started to contact all the local schools regarding proms.

In our local town there's a pop-up craft market, and I have booked a table until April. It's 6 days a week, and I just need to go in periodically to tidy the display, leave business cards and order forms. It's only £20 a week and definitely worth it as already had some orders.

At a recent fair I was approached by another supplier, who deals in dresses, and asked it I'd like to have my shoes on their website! After a big 'eeek!' and a bit of negotiations, it's all going ahead.

I was interviewed here by Paula Buenos Aires which was such a compliment :)

My website is here

If you're a facebook fan the page is Suzannes Emporium UK here :)

Finishing with a couple of my favourite shoes. Getting back into blogging so be prepared for a lot of catch up posts!

Insecure Writer's Support Group

It's the first Wednesday of the month so must be Insecure Writer's Support Group - click on the link and join the Blog Hop!

This is the blurb .....To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds! Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time. Let’s rock the neurotic writing world! Our Twitter hashtag is #IWSG

Me? Well I didn't get as much written as I had hoped during NaNo, but I got so much else done! And to be honest, I think a big reason for that is that I stepped back from blogging, facebook etc for the month. I missed keeping up with my regular bloggers, but have to say, was lovely to see so many things ticked off my to-do list!

So my advice this month would be step away from the internet, or just reduce the time each day :) For December I plan to catch up on what everyone's up to, but with the aid of a timer to stop me sinking back into bad habits!
