SABBSD!! Weird right? When I was growing up (in the 60's) my Mum never swore - still doesn't (I don't take after her then lol!) But she did say these initials one after another. Apparently they replace swear words! I never knew what they stood for, but I'm assuming probably pretty tame words compared to the colourful language used today :) ......... and yep *hangs head in shame* too often used by me.
Anyhow, the reason for swearing? Pottering around this morning and suddenly realised it's the first Wednesday of the month - where did January go????
So I had nothing planned, no words of wisdom, no 'aha' moments, not even a joke or a quote! I know, no quote? I must be busy. But on the IWSG facebook page I noticed someone ask about writing software and I got the 'aha' moment! When I joined NaNoWriMo for the first time I had a free trial of Scrivener. I didn't honestly think it would make a huge difference, but at the end of the free trial I purchased it. I love the simple format, love the post-it notes, the fact that I can see all my chapters and bounce around. I can't comment on the other systems out there, but if you get a chance to try Scrivener I recommend it :)
On a final note - please ignore any spellings, typos, or whatevers, throwing this post together before I shoot out. Oh, on a final, final, note over 3 days last month I visited over 60 blogs, and had just over a third return. Now I know it shouldn't be I visited 60 why didn't 60 visit me - or even 50, 40, 30, 25.... But it is about sharing and caring, so come on, let's feel the love and do unto others as they do unto you :) (Plus, I thought my Dr Seuss mock-up was worth a visit lol!)
The word Scrivener is used in law too...if there's a mistake made on something it's called a Scrivener's error. Usually just a typo or missing word, but you have to petition the Court to get it changed and all the lawyers and parties involved have to sign off on it too.
ReplyDeleteWell, that's weird JoJo, I know I replied, I must not have pressed publish! Didn't know that about Scrivener, love learning new things :) xx
DeleteHmm, well, there's no F in there, so I guess those words are tame! LOL. I downloaded the Scrivener free trial but haven't actually used it. I think I just feel like it's way too late to try to get so organized with my WIP. Maybe the next book...
ReplyDeleteFebruary IWSG Co-host
Hi Sarah, I think they are tame! I think the D was damn, but that was a slip up by mum, she never let on lol! x
DeleteOkay, now I'm curious what SABBSD stands for. Is that the first initial of each of the bad words she really wanted to say?
ReplyDeleteHi Stephanie, yes I think so. I think I'm going to have to ask mum, she'll probably say she doesn't remember ;) x
DeleteHi Suzanne, I was very entertained by your post and glad I stopped by. Fellow IWSGer here. Thanks for the laugh and you're right, share the love!
ReplyDeleteHi Randi, thanks for the visit, catching up - only a week late (if you read old posts you'll see I'm in the middle of a lot of stuff!). Will pop back and visit you :) x
DeleteSuzanne, I agree about returning the love. I'm still working on my Blog Blitz Day posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks Boss ;) I shall be returning the love Thursday - I've kept it quiet but I have an empty day .... tempting fate really saying it out loud lol! x
DeleteThat's a shame they didn't return your visits. I make it a point to visit everyone who visits me, even if it's a day or two later.
