Yay this month I remembered and scheduled :) I'm going to be busy this month as I'm co-host - Eeek! Exciting! Let's hope I don't screw up and never be allowed to do it again LOL! I was debating what to write about, but then I thought I've subconsciously chosen - time management! When writing, or crafting in any form, we can become so obsessed with the creating. to the detriment of everything going on around - home, health, relationships. It is important to step away from the computer or pen and paper and go have a glass of water - take a walk and get some fresh air - play with the kids.
So, as regulars know, I am a bit of a quote fan, and I think this one says it succinctly :)
The IWSG does exactly what it says on the tin, click on the logo now you've read my post and it'll take you to the linky-list of everyone joining in the blog hop.
That's a great quote, Suzanne! Thanks for co-hosting for this month.
ReplyDeleteNew follower here. :-) It's wonderful to meet you.
Thanks for co-hosting! I usually get so caught up in being on my computer, whether it's for writing, blogging, or working, that I forget to get up and move around! I've been trying to exercise more lately, though.
ReplyDeleteTrue words!! I find myself thinking only of my wip, and not really living. Thank you for the reminder. Thank you for co-hosting.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. Been so busy with my wip, blog, & poetry projects lately. I'll have to remember this.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting.
IWSG #142 until Alex culls the list again.
Time management is one of my biggest challenges. I'm really bad about it. But I do make a life as much as I can.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting.

Tossing It Out
Thanks for co-hosting! I doubt you'll suck at it.
ReplyDeleteWe do have to step away. Real people are what makes life memorable and we have to get out and interact with those people.
Great advice! It's important to leave room for fun!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quote. I think that sometimes with people taking so many selflies. Are they really excited about what they're doing (making dinner, running to the store) or do they want people to believe they're excited about it?
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting!

Thanks, Suzanne, for co-hosting this month. Love your quote. I think we all get so wrapped up in what we're doing we forget to look at the big picture. Thanks for the reminder.
ReplyDeleteI needed to read this quote. Balancing keeps our heads above water. Love the quote, Suzanne. And thanks for co-hosting. You've done an awesome job.
ReplyDeleteYes. Exactly. Well said!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
TY for co-hosting.
Heather
Awesome reminder, Suzanne. thanks for co-hosting. Pretty sure you'll be allowed another go-round.
ReplyDeleteExcellent subject. Guilt sits beside me every day. I'm off to water aerobics shortly.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. I also love quotes. Thanks for co-hosting this month. It certainly does take a large amount of time management! Are you doing the A to Z Challenge? That requires much time management, and yet, I love the excitement of it.

Great thoughts. I don't often let work get between me and my family, unless it's housework. There are many times I wince because I told my 4yo, "I can't play right now. I'm busy." But if I don't clean the house, then who will? I wonder what example I'm setting. Will my children keep a clean house, but neglect their family? Or will they throw themselves at their families and live in a mess? And all the time, I wish I could have some time for writing. Ah well. That's life.
ReplyDeleteYes, life is important!
ReplyDeleteSince I work at home it's so very hard to remember this advice. I never walk my dog enough! Luckily my kids are off on their own adventures, but I still find myself right here, in front of the computer, clocking my time while my garden goes to pot and my dog doesn't get his exercise! Thanks for the reminder, and thanks for co-hosting today!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is home on spring break next week and I'm going to put my writing aside to spend time with her. I love that quote.
ReplyDeleteLove the quote. I tend to live for the next event in life and I constantly have to remind myself to enjoy the time leading up to it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting!
I'm more worried about enjoying my writing than making a living off of it. Of course, that doesn't mean I don't want both. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting the IWSG!
I need to do a lot more living in the now. Love the quote! And hello to my fellow co-host!
ReplyDeleteLove this quote and the artwork with it. (BTW, the rose artwork on your page is delicious. Of course I am a rose lover.) Your quote is right on the mark for most of us. Great reminder. Thanks for co-hosting!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting! My relationships definitely take a backseat to my writing/publishing. I need to fix that.
ReplyDeleteThat advice is well-taken. Sometimes I push my family into the background for what I need to do with my writing. I'll have to remember to give them some special time in return for their understanding.
ReplyDeleteWell said, Suzanne. I took the bike out yesterday and it was so refreshing, even if I DID freeze my butt off. Exercise has always been my tonic for getting back on track. But living far from certain members of my family, it's more of an effort. Time to visit my mom again....
ReplyDeleteYes well it would be nice to make a living again. I'm so sick of being poor and struggling to pay bills.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting, Suzanne! I've done it once, and it's lots of fun. I had a step learning curve, and I hope I did well enough to do it again! You raised my biggest challenge: time management! I get lost in what I'm doing over and over! Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteThank you for co-hosting, Suzanne! You've hit the nail on the head for me - I've been so worried about managing my time (writing/book promoting/blogging etc) lately, I feel like I'm neglecting other areas of my life. This month, I'm going to try harder to manage my time better, as well as take a step back and breathe if I need to!
ReplyDeleteI love that meme! It's so true. Thanks for co-hosting! Time management is such a problem for me, too. Let me know if you figure it out. ;-)
ReplyDeleteExactly! Great quote, Suzanne. Thanks so much for co-hosting this month.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. And it so applies to writing. Don't get so caught up in the rules/the business/the mechanics of writing that you forget to enjoy the ride!
ReplyDeleteLove the quote, though it's a tough distinction for a writer. Writing IS my life. I don't want to do anything else, despite goods, bads, and yuckies.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. Thanks for co-hosting this month.
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting and excellent advice Suz.
ReplyDeleteI love that saying and it's so true. Glad you remembered IWSG this month!
ReplyDeleteOh, almost forgot....thanks for co-hosting this month, as well.
ReplyDeleteTerrific quote! It's so true how easily one can get caught up with work/writing and forget to go out there and live! Thanks for co-hosting this month!
ReplyDeleteEvery summer, hubby and I go tourist trapping to places we can drive to within a day. It's because of that quote. We gotta work, but we don't want to forget to experience thing.
ReplyDeleteI was fortunate enough to have learned this a few years ago. I hate that I used to work so hard that I missed out on a lot of my daughter's first few years. Now, my kids really are the center of my day-to-day. Money comes and goes, but time is the one thing that, when lost, can never be recovered.
ReplyDeleteThat quote is so true. It's important to remember, but easy to forget. Thanks for co-hosting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for co-hosting and great quote! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so important not to be so exclusively one-tracked, even when we have a really important project and need to plow through it. Thanks for co-hosting!
ReplyDeleteWell, I stepped away from the computer today and took a walk with my sister. The break did us both good :)
ReplyDeleteYou sound excited about your new role. Best of luck there.
ReplyDeleteI mentioned on a couple of other blogs this month that my time management skills are abysmal. And I could certainly stand to stop obsessing over things and just be.
Hi Suzanne,
ReplyDeleteTime management - my nemesis. But in the opposite way to many others here, I spend a lot of time trying to compensate for time spent writing (guilt because I feel the need to make up for spending so much time having fun) and then end up with not enough writing time...
Thanks for hosting,
Angie
Love the quote...and the sentiment! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the balance. I wish I could write all day long but I can;t. Family, exercise, naps and such are all muy importante to maintaining that balance.
ReplyDeleteWise words indeed! Thanks for co-hosting this month. I'm glad I found your blog through IWSG. Sounds as though we have some things in common being creative not just as writers but in complimentary healthcare practices as well. I hope things go well for you this month!
ReplyDeleteLOL I had to schedule it into my calendar and write the post several days before the date! Balance is definitely the key (and an abundance of mental health days). Hah! :) Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote. It is good to get away from the computer. My cat and I like to take long walks and watch the birds. The cat especially enjoys the birds. Thanks for co-hosting this month.
ReplyDeleteSo true, that quote. Still working on finding that balance. Thanks for co-hosting!
ReplyDeleteThe quote is so true. Sometimes I do get so busy that I forget to make a life. Thanks for the reminder. Good luck from an IWSG blog hopping friend.
ReplyDeleteThat is a truly lovely and valid quote. I'm sharing it. Thanks for co-hosting.
ReplyDeleteWill visit everyone over the weekend - so many comments - anyone thinking of offering to co-host, go for it!
ReplyDeleteThanks to my new followers - that was an unexpected bonus :)
I'm glad the quote was so well received - hope you're all doing the things you said you would instead of slaving over the computer/pen and paper all weekend ;)
Off to give my little one a cuddle but over the weekend will be visiting everyone :)
xx
Great quote! And so true. Thanks for sharing that because I'm sure we all needed to hear it.
ReplyDeleteGreat quote! And so true. Thanks for sharing that because I'm sure we all needed to hear it.
ReplyDeleteThat quote nails it.
ReplyDeleteWe are constantly on the move. Busy, busy, busy.
So we need to be reminded because we DO tend to forget.
Thank you for co-hosting IWSG this month!
