He took one look at the bicycle and stated that there was no way he was getting on it! He couldn't ride without stabilisers. Ten minutes later he was on it and hasn't looked back since - although he has a lot of bruises on his shins as badges of honour :)

My Boys!

Love this photo - definitely in the top 5 this year. It's not often they get together, and this was literally a last minute 'let's have a photo' moment before we left Ireland. And it has turned out great. Bit like the boys. Did you like that link ;)

Joseph is now working hard in Dublin, has an amazing partner who is great with Ella, and saving like mad for his first home. And has the most amazing idea for his own business which he is busy starting in his spare time.

Joshua has been home for the college break and went straight back down to the school volunteering.

Benjamin came home and went back down Halfords during his summer break so that he could earn some money to pay us back money he owed us. And he returned to Lake Tahoe a week earlier than planned so that he could train hard for next season :)

They're both studying hard, Joshua came away from his first year with a GPA of 4.0 and Ben's was mid-3's. They both have a part-time job on campus to help with the finances and look after the home they rent as well as I could.

All in all very proud of all 3 boys. Especially when I think back to their teenage years - long time readers will know what I mean ;)

Anyhow, that photo .......

Lisfranc Happy Post :)

I know, bit of an oxymoron really! But I had a hospital appointment today that I had been dreading. I was supposed to have a guided steroid injection into my foot. Having one in my hand last year and knowing how much that hurt, I was convinced that it would be so much more painful in my foot. However they decided not to do it today, and I'm happy to take that - until the next appointment!

So on the day that we had to go into London and decided to watch a show we obviously had to eat ;) We found this lovely restaurant just around the corner from the Apollo Theatre in Victoria where Wicked is playing.

It's like a TARDIS, much, much bigger on the inside. It seems to have a couple of  names; 'Maverick', and 'I am the Maverick'.
Upside: Friendly staff, quick service and great food with good portions.
Downside: The spicy meatballs were definitely spicy! The garlic bread was basically a pizza base and the pizza I had (which was lovely) had no sugo, which I found made the pizza a bit dry.
Overall no real complaints, it was all good :)

Being Neighbourly

Jeff's twice a year neighbourly good deed, which over the years has become a more and more mammoth task as the plants have grown from little shrubs to large established trees :)

I love musicals and luckily I have one family member that also enjoys them - Joshua :) Last year we went together to see Jesus Christ Superstar; Joseph; and Blood Brothers (which is my absolutely favourite musical ever!) Today we had to go to London for Joshua's post-op, which was all good, and we decided to see a show while we were in town.

We just went to one of the show boxes to find out what was available......... Wicked!

So Wicked it was. Now I knew that the story line is based on the time before The Wizard of Oz but that was all I knew. And actually it was a good thing as it was an absolute delight to see the story unfold. And the score? Great, could happily see it again :)

Had a week away at the beginning of July. We decided to go to Ireland to see Joseph and Kerrie while the 2 boys are home from the USA, it's not often I get all the kids under the same roof any more. When I mentioned to Mum we were going:
Mum "Oh that'll be nice, it's a lovely country, I haven't been for years."
Me "Well, we want to see Joe so seemed logical."
Mum "My oldest grandson, I do miss him."
Pregnant pause.
Me "Mum, would you like to come with us?"
Mum "Well, that sounds like a nice idea, if you insist!"
So here's just a selection of some of the best bits :)
