For the past 4 years I have taken part in the A-Z April Challenge. I have loved it, although something always gets in the way of me being prepared and ends up with a last minute dash to the finishing line!
Today I thought I would start on the A to Z annual road trip. I hadn't signed up. What with having my gallbladder out on the 4th May, 3 fosterlings, Ella and 2 more operations in the pipeline I really didn't want to sign up for something that I didn't think I would be able to complete. But today I visited and was really surprised to see only 87 sign-ups. I cannot remember for sure, but certainly feels like a lot less than previous years.
In my wash-up post this year I commented on a general feeling of apathy and that seems to have carried on through to the Road Trip.

This year I covered a complex injury in detail, so was really surprised to find it the worst year for me - almost half of 2014! I don't know if it was just me but if it affected a lot of blogs, hopefully whatever interest has gone can be stoked up again :)
I did A-Z twice and I'm just not a fan anymore. It's too much work.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lot of work - and I wouldn't mind so much if I thought everyone was putting in the same amount of effort. I didn't get that feeling this year :(
DeleteI did the A to Z for the first time this year and found it to be a lot of fun. I have nothing to compare the page views to as I am just starting blogging on a more regular basis. I certainly think that for the number of participants, the number of views should be larger, but also think that knowing there are 1000+ participants might be overwhelming to some, so instead of doing a few, they do none. I'm going to try to visit all 87 of the road trip participants before it's time for another A to Z!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it Janet :)Good luck with the Road Trip!
DeleteI enjoy the AtoZ because I always learn so much. Couldn't do much with the Road Trip this year. New book to launch. Old books to promote. And then there's was summer!
ReplyDeleteI do love landing on a blog and finding something interesting :) But yes, that's the reason I didn't sign up for the Road Trip but I am going to try and visit everyone by the end of the year :)
