Fostering 'K' .... A - Z Blog Challenge

As Jeff and I have been foster carers for 3 years this month it seemed the right time to have Fostering as a topic for the A-Z. We're still new enough that we're not jaded yet, but have had a pretty bumpy ride, so fairly realistic in what fostering is really about.

Kinship Care - Kinship care, also called connected persons, or family and friends care, is where children are looked after by people they already know. There are different kinds of kinship care, formal and informal. Sometimes they can be looked after children but not always. It can be a temporary or permanent arrangement. But it provides children the opportunity to be loved and cared for by people that they already have a connection with. This information was taken from Coram BAAF.
